Patty received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Indiana State University. She has worked as an oncology nurse her entire career and had experience in surgical ICU at The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, and then moved to community based oncology in 1982. Oncology was evolving as a nursing specialty when she entered the field.
She was attracted by the opportunity to expand her skills and knowledge in a rapidly developing specialty. Oncology nursing has challenged her personally, to meet the patients’ ever changing needs for cancer care as well as a professionally, to stay current with treatments, technology, and economics. Patty enjoys the opportunity to educate both her patients and her colleagues. The longevity as a private group practice, with a history of maintaining the focus on the most current approaches to oncology patient care has made Oncology Consultants unique. The best part of her job is the patients. Seeing long term survivors who have been able to enjoy full and active lives after cancer is very special to her. She also thoroughly enjoys being able to help deliver state of the art care to those on active therapy. Patty feels fulfilled in working with a team of excellent oncology professionals that help make a difference in the lives of the patients.
