Q: How long does it take for my labs to load to the portal?
It can take up to 5 business days as the clinical staff has to approve the results prior to being able to see them on the patient portal.
Q: How long does it take for patients to receive a return call from staff?
Oncology Consultants staff will return a call by the end of the business day with an answer or with an update that we are working on the request.
Q: Can we view billing through the portal?
No, we cannot. At this time, you may ask the front office staff to assist with printing a statement or refer to a Billing Account Representative.
Q: How do I access my medical records if I want a copy or need to send to another practice?
The Front Office will be able to assist you with your request by simply filling out a medical release form. You may pick up at clinic with proper ID. We are also able to send to another physician practice with a proper release form signed by the patient.
Q: Who do I speak to about FMLA/Medical Clearance/Handicap and how long does it take to have these forms filled out?
The clinical staff will fill out these forms and have physicians sign off. This may take up to 5-7 business days.
Q: Will I be called with all new results (lab and Imaging)?
No, all results are not called to each patient. Our goal is that patients come in to have a discussion with the Provider when new results are received. Additionally, by enrolling in our patient portal, you will be able to view/print new results that are signed off by the Physician.
Q: How do I contact my Physician in an urgent situation?
The best way to contact your provider or a nurse on behalf of the provider, is to call the phone number of the specific office where you are seen. If it is after hours, our answering service will be able to contact the provider on-call to address your situation.
Q: If I am receiving treatment and feel unwell over the weekend, what should I do?
By contacting the office where you visit your provider, your situation can be reviewed, and you may be able to be seen in our weekend after-hours clinic. This clinic is open on Saturday between 10am and 2pm at our Memorial City location: https://www.oncologyconsultants.com/locations We have a Nurse Practitioner, two Nurses and lab services available during this time.
Q: How do I get enrolled in the patient portal?

Q: Do you have lab services in the clinics?
We are able to perform lab services in almost all of our offices. There are some results that can be obtained the same day as your appointment and others will be sent out to either LabCorp or Quest, depending on your insurance coverage. The results are received depending on the type of test ordered.
Q: If I become a patient, will I still need a PCP, or will my physician at Oncology Consultants assume all my medical care?
You will still maintain your relationship with your PCP or Internist. We will keep in communication with them so that they have the most up-to-date information about your treatment. However, we will recommend that you continue your care as they will monitor for several other health-related issues unrelated to your treatment.
Q: I am having difficulty securing transportation for my treatments. What should I do?
We have a Nurse Navigator on staff who is very helpful in finding transportation for treatments. Please ask your nurse for a referral.
