“Scientists find link between X and cancer.” There’s a good chance you’ve seen something like this in the news headlines. Or maybe you’ve received it in an email, text, or through social media from a well-meaning friend. These days it seems X can be just about anything – antiperspirants, cell phones, hair dyes, pesticides, power lines, plastic bottles, and eating red meat are a few that often make the news or circulate as rumors.
