In recognition of Pharmacy Week, our Executive Director of Pharmacy, Yen Nguyen, is leading the charge in updating Stark Law. Stark Law, created in 1989, is due for modernization to better serve patients' needs in today's evolving healthcare landscape.

Just as you can order groceries online and deliver them to your doorstep, patients should have the same convenience for crucial oral cancer treatments.

That's where House Bill H.R. 5526, the Seniors' Access to Critical Medications Act, comes in. Sponsored by Congresswoman Diana Harshbarger, a pharmacist, this bill aims to:

#1 Enable medication delivery to patients' homes or allow pickup by family or caregivers by amending the Stark Law exception.
#2 Retract the CMS FAQ that's been causing issues.
#3 Set the effective date to May 11, 2023, when the Public Health Emergency ended.

With 12 cosponsors, we need more support to bring this crucial update to the Congress floor. Contact your House of Representatives and ask them to cosponsor HR 5526. Let's create a 21st-century healthcare system that serves patients better.
